The purpose of this grant program is to help state and local courts offer treatment and recovery support instead of incarceration for individuals who are in a court system due to mental health or substance use disorders. These 11 new grants will provide more flexibility within the criminal justice system to work with other authorities and service providers to address behavioral health needs of detainees, inmates and parolees.
SAMHSA’s GAINS Center will provide technical assistance to the 11 Adult Treatment Court Collaborative (ATCC) grantees as they work to meet the needs of justice-involved individuals with co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders by braiding services of treatment courts, provider organizations, peer support, and recovery organizations. These new court and community networks will have an improved ability to reach justice-involved adults with behavioral health needs.
ATCC Grantees: To submit a request for on-site technical assistance, please complete and submit the SAMHSA's GAINS Center Technical Assistance Request Form for ATCC in Word format (MS Word Doc 940kb) or the SAMHSA's GAINS Center Technical Assistance Request Form for ATCC in PDF format (PDF 69.7kb).
